The combined Mid-Atlantic design, 282, and 302 plant teams took part in a great evening of activities at a local racetrack. The employee appreciation event was held to say thank you to the team for their hard work, contributions, and successes thus far this year. The event was attended by nearly 400 employees and family members, who brought a lot of life to the track. The evening’s festivities were highlighted by Burlington and Liberty trucks, loaded with roof and floor trusses, EWP, and wall panels making a few parade laps around the track with the pace car before the start of the race. Employees were able to hype up the crowd by launching t-shirts and throwing other UFP SWAG into the stands. At the conclusion of the national anthem Patrick Benton, Mike Ellerbrook, and Dwain Hutton met on the track to announce to the race teams “Gentlemen, start your engines!” Employees and families congregated in a VIP area where they were served burgers, hotdogs, snacks, and beverages. If this wasn’t enough fun, there were two other reasons for the families of UFP to cheer the night on. Dean and Colby Fogleman, the husband, and son of designer Angela Fogleman were the drivers of two racecars who competed in the night’s races. Better yet, both racecars were emblazoned with UFP Site Built and TrussTrax logos! (Colby finished 3rd in his race!)
“The events of the day were a real success. It’s always great to say thank you to the men and women of UFP for their hard work and efforts. To see them with their families, hanging out, laughing, smiling, and having a good time was wonderful. They deserve it! It was also great for UFP’s connection to the community. We want to be a good neighbors in our communities and this event was one more way for us to connect with them. Any observer could easily see the culture of UFP on display through a large crowd of happy people showing pride in their company, supporting local events and people, and genuinely enjoying time with one another.”
